Insurance Reconstruction Services in Dallas-Fort Worth
Getting the insurance check is only half the story. Someone still has to rebuild the kitchen, hang the drywall, lay new flooring and match the trim. And the scope your adjuster wrote doesn’t always cover everything the job really needs.
DFW Restorations Enterprise handles insurance reconstruction for homeowners across Dallas-Fort Worth after water, fire, storm and mold losses. We take the project from final demolition to the last coat of paint and work with your insurance company the whole way.
How Insurance Reconstruction Works
Most often, the claim will go through much the same process. Your adjuster will come by and will inspect and create an estimate – typically in Xactimate, the tool most carriers are using. We compare that estimate to what we can actually find on location.
When things are not located, like code upgrades, non-match items, etc., we note all that and submit a supplement with photo and line items.
Once the scope is agreed upon, we pull permits, order material and schedule our trades.
What We Rebuild
Our teams can take care of drywall, insulation and framing, cabinetry, countertops, tile, hardwood and LVP flooring, interior and exterior paint, doors, trim, and roofing. Since we do remodels as well as rebuilds, many of our homeowners will take this opportunity to upgrade and pay for something nicer than their original home without diminishing their claim coverage. Those upgrades are kept apart on paper so the claim remains clear.
The code also makes a difference. With the homes older homes in Dallas, Fort Worth and in the suburbs, insurance policies often return the home to current code, which could involve new electrical outlets, smoke detectors or insulation levels.
Working With Your Mortgage Company
If you have a mortgage, the insurance check is often made out to both you and your lender. Lenders usually release the money in stages and may want progress inspections before each draw. We help with the paperwork they ask for so funds don’t stall the job.
One Point of Contact
Rebuilds involve a lot of moving pieces: plumbers, electricians, cabinet shops, tile setters, inspectors and the adjuster. You shouldn’t have to coordinate all of them. We assign one project lead who keeps the schedule, answers your questions and sends regular updates, so you always know what’s happening this week and what comes next.
Insurance Reconstruction FAQs
Do I have to use the contractor my insurer suggests?
Usually not. Homeowners are generally free to choose their own contractor. Check your policy and ask your adjuster if you’re unsure.
What if the insurance estimate seems too low?
That’s common. We review the estimate line by line and submit a supplement with documentation when something is missing or underpriced.
Can you cover my deductible?
No. In Texas, contractors aren’t allowed to waive or absorb a homeowner’s deductible. It’s your share of the claim, and any contractor who offers to skip it is breaking the law.
