Storm Damage Repair and Emergency Roofing in DFW
North Texas storms move in fast. A clear afternoon turns into golf-ball hail and 70 mph gusts in twenty minutes, and by evening there are shingles in the yard and water coming through a bedroom ceiling. Hail season in DFW peaks in spring, but severe weather can show up nearly any month.
DFW Restorations Enterprise provides storm damage repair and emergency roofing across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. We stop the water first, then repair the damage inside and out.
Emergency Roof Tarping and Board-Up
If a strong wind tears the roof or pokes a limb through, our main goal is stopping the next rain. We can set up a tough tarp, secured to the roof, and board up any windows or doors that might have been broken. That’s something most policies anticipate, taking the extra precaution of a job well done, with time- and camera-recorded photos.
Interior and Exterior Storm Repairs
Storm damage rarely stops at the roof. Whenever water enters your home through a breach in the roof or a broken window, we also perform extraction and drying. We also inspect your gutters, siding, fencing, windows and garage doors.
You might not see hail damage to shingles from the driveway. But along with missing granules, bruised shingles also tend to give out years before their time. That’s why a detailed look is worth the effort even when your roof appears to be fine.
The other part of the problem is wind. Strong gusts are capable of tearing tabs off shingles and destroying the seal strip without any high winds, which means the problem isn’t immediately visible, and the leak doesn’t become evident until the next downpour. We check for those loose tabs as well.
Help With Your Storm Claim
We take photographs and measurements to document your damage and are willing to meet with your adjuster at the property. Several policies in Texas require a separate or additional wind/hail deductible that is either flat or a percentage of the value of your house insured. Look up the number on your declarations page before it hits you.
Storm Damage FAQs
Should I climb on the roof to look for damage?
Please don’t. Wet or damaged roofs are dangerous. Look for shingles in the yard, dented gutters and vents, and ceiling stains, and leave the roof itself to a professional.
How long do I have to file a hail claim?
That depends on your policy, and many set a firm deadline after the storm date. File sooner rather than later, since damage is easier to tie to a specific storm when it’s recent.
How do I avoid storm chasers?
After big hail events, out-of-town crews knock on doors and disappear when warranty issues come up. Hire a local company with an address you can visit. Ours is in Coppell.
